What’s In A Name?

Our story and philosophy are represented in our name.

Max

Max Mobility is named after me, Oliver Max Nigrosh, Founder and Clinical Lead.

My path into prosthetics and orthotics was anything but traditional. After graduating from Colby College with degrees in Economics-Mathematics and International Studies, I explored several careers before meeting my wife, Lo. Together, we moved to Honduras, where she taught at a local school while I helped support the community in various ways.

During that time, I discovered something that would change the direction of my life. My wife is an amputee, and I found myself helping maintain and adjust her prosthesis. Seeing firsthand how proper prosthetic care could restore independence, confidence, and mobility inspired me to pursue a career in prosthetics and orthotics.

After returning to the United States, I completed my prosthetics and orthotics education at the University of Hartford, graduating at the top of my class. I then completed my residency with Hanger Clinic in Connecticut before assuming leadership of a clinic in Massachusetts. Over the next eleven years, I helped build a thriving practice, led award-winning teams, and had the privilege of serving thousands of patients.

Today, Max Mobility allows me to bring that experience into a practice built around a simple philosophy: exceptional care, meaningful relationships, and patient-centered service.

Mobility

Mobility is at the heart of everything we do.

Whether someone is recovering from an amputation, dealing with foot drop, managing joint instability, or healing from a spinal injury, limitations in movement can affect every aspect of daily life. They can also make it difficult to access the care needed for recovery.

That’s why Max Mobility was designed differently. In addition to our clinic-based services, we offer mobile care when appropriate, bringing prosthetic and orthotic services directly to patients who face transportation or mobility challenges. Our goal is to remove barriers to care and help patients regain independence as quickly and safely as possible.

And yes, the name is intentional. We don’t just aim to restore mobility. We strive to help every patient achieve their maximum mobility.

Prosthetics

Prosthetics focuses on helping people who have experienced limb loss or were born with limb differences. We provide custom devices designed to restore function, comfort, and independence, including artificial legs, feet, arms, hands, fingers, and toes.

Orthotics

Orthotics focuses on supporting and improving function in existing limbs and joints. Common examples include braces for foot drop, knee instability, arthritis, scoliosis, spinal injuries, and other conditions that affect movement and stability.

Together, these services help people move more comfortably, live more independently, and return to the activities that matter most.

Welcome to Max Mobility Prosthetics and Orthotics. We look forward to helping you move forward.
